Keywords in URL May Help Rankings and Money!

A blogger asked me about the importance of having keywords in your URL (blog address). I would defer to Matt Cutts, who works at Google and writes his own blog. Matt is a sharp guy so when Matt talks…I listen.

Here is his comment: “Most bloggy sites tend to have words from the title of a post in the URL; having keywords from the post title in the URL also can help search engines judge the quality of a page.” It may not be of major importance but if you are in the business of making money with your blog-every little advantage helps.

A Win for Investors

It’s great to see that Patty Dunn of Hewlett Packard has resigned. Right before someone would have had the brass to fire her. HP employees have to wonder how this company is being run.

Patty has good company, Peter Dolan over at Bristol Myers was fired today. During his five year tenure BMY stock is down 60%! It’s great news for investors to see that the Boards of Directors are taking their obligation seriously.

Money Tip for You Affluent Baby Boomers!

Many affluent boomers are enjoying the benefits of destination clubs. Colorado is home to five of roughly 20 luxury-residence clubs in North America. The industry is now going through a wake-up call after Connecticut based Tanner & Haley filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July of this year.

This left members scrambling to recoup their deposits which ranged from $85,000 to $1.3 million!! Ouch! This is not how the good life is supposed to play out so take heed and review the financial health of these clubs before sending the dough!
